Passed peacefully away on February 19, 2016, Simeon Dean of North West Brook, Trinity Bay and a former resident of Southport, Trinity Bay, at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by his wife Annie on February 26, 2000, and by his parents Thomas and Jessie (Dalton) Dean; brothers Alexander, Arthur, Charles, and infant brother William James; sisters Grace, Rose Pardy, Amelia Pelly, and infant sister Mary Caroline. Leaving to mourn with many cherished memories are daughters Sandra (Everett) Soper, Rose Viola (Gerald) Andrews; sons Eli (Marion), Leslie (Grace), Melvin (Ivy), Terry and Robert (Angie); fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchild. He also leaves to mourn a large circle of extended family members and friends. Rested at Emmanuel United Church, North West Brook, with funeral service Monday, February 22, at 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Gneid Walsh. Interment at Emmanuel United Church cemetery.
