SAVOIE, JOSEPH DAVID
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Joseph David Savoie which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 21st, 2016.
Born 1931, in Shippagan, NB, David was employed with the Air Force. He continued his career working as a Commissionaire and later working for MacMillan Rothesay. David was a very talented artist. He enjoyed woodworking, glass engraving and painting. He had a stall at the City Market where he would sell his toys on the weekend. David built many wooden toys and every Christmas he and his late wife Lois would deliver the toys to the children at the Saint John Regional Hospital Pediatric Unit making sure every child received a toy.
David is survived by his sons David (Anita) of Middle Sackville, NS, Wayne of Saint John; daughters Jane Edison (Jack) of Saint John, Linda Slovitt (Bruce) of Saint John, Wendy Roberts of Saint John; grandchildren Tim, Shawn E., Scott, Erin, Kelsey, Riley, Owen, Shawn S., and Austin.
David was predeceased by his wife Lois.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Wednesday, February 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Thursday, February 25th at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Donations in memory of David may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Pediatric Unit, SPCA-Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
