Born in Dublin, Ireland, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 in St. John's, Newfoundland at the age of 66. Derek is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Eileen, his brother Robert and sister Siobhan. Derek is survived by his children Damian Harrington and Kylah Connolly (Sean), the mother of his children, Helena, partner Heather, her mother Doreen and the Reardigan family; his four grandchildren Marcus, James, Clodagh and Abbey; his three brothers Richard, Joseph and Paul; all his nephews, nieces and family in Ireland, plus his musical family and friends. Derek was an incredible musician, a loving father, partner and friend. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 from 2-7 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Church on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10 am. Interment will take place at a later date.
