MELANSON, MAURICE
1932 - 2016
Maurice Melanson, 83, of Villa du Repos, Moncton, NB, passed away on Monday, February 29th, 2016, at his residence. Born in Notre-Dame, NB, he was the son of the late Zoel and the late Evangeline (née: Bourgeois) Melanson.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Melanson had worked at the Moncton Hospital. He enjoyed dancing and was also a member of the Club d’Age d’Or Heritage and Notre-Dame de la Paix Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Annette (née: Gaudet); two daughters: Chantal (Doland) and Francine (Robert); one son, Raymond (late Louise); three sisters: his twin, Geneva, Edna (late Gerard) and Dora; one brother, Camille (Rita); eight grandchildren: Christine, Charle, Mathieu, Lynne, Mya, Samantha, Tyler and Gabby; six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents; he was predeceased by one sister, Rita and two brothers: Gerard and Aurele.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Saturday from 9 am until time of departure. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Notre-Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 11 am. Interment in St. Lawrence O’Toole Parish Cemetery, Irishtown.
