BROWN, Dallas Mable – 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Gander, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda (Froud) Boland. Dallas attended Salvation Army, Truro Corps, where she made many friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, looking after and spending time with her family, getting together with friends and loved the family dog, Konan; she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Dallas is survived by her children, Keith Brown (Melissa Kelly), Tracy Brown (Paul Chatfield), Reta (Greg) Cream, all of Truro; grandchildren, Dillan Brown, Christian Brown, Brayden Cream, Keenan Cream; special friend, Dale Burgess, Truro; twin sister, Dorothy “Dot” (Len) Saunders, Gambo, Newfoundland; sister, Judy (Darren) Powell, Fort McMurray, Alberta; brothers, Hiram (Sheila) Boland, Gander, Newfoundland; Jamie Boland (Shannon Ehler), Fort McMurray, Alberta; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Boland. Special thanks are extended to Bob and Elaine Keeping for their care, concern and love for Dallas and her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Dallas’ family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, Thursday, March 3, 2016. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, in Salvation Army, Truro Corps, 14 Outram Street, Truro Lieut. Daniel Rowe and Lieut. Bhreagh Rowe officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Dallas’ memory to Canadian Mental Health Association, Colchester East-Hants Branch, are welcomed.
