MURPHY, CD, CF (Ret'd), Cpl. Vivian June – age 67, Herrington Ave., Yarmouth, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 26, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, with her loving son at her side. Born March 2, 1948 in Argyle Sound, she was a daughter to June (Vickery) Murphy, Yarmouth, and the late Marsden Murphy. Vivian was a retired Corporal, having served with the Department of National Defense for 21 years. She was very active in politics, being a staunch supporter of both the Nova Scotia PC Party and the Federal Liberal Party. Aside from her mother, June, to whom Vivian was a loving caregiver until the time of her death, she is survived by a son, Bryan Murphy, Toronto, as well as grandchildren, Rebekah Durkee-Murphy, Autumn and Rowen Baird. Also surviving are brothers, Randy (Marcine) Murphy, Lloydminster, SK and Terry (Cathy) Murphy, Kitchener, ON as well as a sister-in-law, Martha Murphy, Yarmouth. Aside from her father, Marsden, she was predeceased by a brother, Marsden “Bubby” Murphy. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life was held at the Hebron Baptist Church at 7 p.m., Monday, February 29, Pastor Wayne Johnson officiated. Interment will take place at a later date in the Yukon, a place she loved and always wanted to go back to. Donations in memory of Vivian may be made to the Hebron Baptist Church.
