Claudia Ann DesJardins

Claudia Ann DesJardins - 91, Truro, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Ada (Newman) Coleman. Claudia spent her life in the public service industry; there are not many people in Truro that did not know her whether through the CN, Truro Armories, Racetrack or many other establishments she worked and volunteered at. She was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She moved to Truro from Kentville around 1965 to follow her husband on his career path. Claudia is survived by her daughters and sons, Cherron (Ray Anthony), Deep Cove, British Columbia; Carol, Maple Ridge, British Columbia; Ronald (Diane McCallum), Truro; Cyril, Old Barns; Guy (Margaret Howard), Onslow Mountain; Donna (Leonard Schnare), Annapolis Valley; David (Crystal), Lower Truro; brothers, Edwin, Beverly, Carl, all reside in Kings County; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who live all over. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Michael, Robert; daughter, Helen; brothers, Guy, Gordon, James, Malcolm, William; sister, Elaine. Special thanks are extended to the staff and volunteers at The Mira Long Term Care Facility for the above and beyond care they took of our mother during the time she was there and also for the palliative care she received; our appreciation cannot be met with words. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Claudia's family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 p.m., Wednesday March 9, 2016. Spring interment in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County, where she will be laid to rest with her parents. If so desired, donations in Claudia’s memory to Canadian Diabetes Association or charity of choice are welcomed.
