Harris, Louise
With heavy hearts, the family of Louise Helen (Saunders) Harris announces her passing which occurred on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on August 21, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Thomas John and Rosella (Parker) Saunders.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John Loman Harris; daughters Nancy Harris and Rose Anne Balemans; grandchildren Trevor and Christopher Harris; sisters Georgie Earle, Thelma Wade and Mary Craig; brothers Richard Saunders and Charles Saunders.
Louise was an avid quilter, she was an active member of the Rebecca Lodge, the Orange Order and the ACW at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. She was a lifelong member of the PC Party and was very passionate about Canadian Politics. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children John Lewis Harris (Eleanor) of Sussex, Wayne Harris (Melvina) of Bloomfield, Jacqueline “Jacquie” Girouard (Jean Paul) of Quebec, Sharon Lang (John McNair) of Saint John and Blair Harris (Tina) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; brother James “Jimmy” Saunders of Nepean, ON; sisters Hazel Connell (Larry) and Irene Kemp both of Saint John; son-in-law Francis Balemans; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Church of Good Shepherd, 668 Manawagonish Road, Saint John on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place in Anglican Church Cemetery, Sussex Corner in the spring.
