HACHEY, ALEXINA "JEAN"
Alexina “Jean” Mary Hachey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Loch Lomond Villa Nursing Home. Born in Saint John, NB on January 22, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Alex and Anna (Robichaud) Cyr.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Richard Michael Hachey and her sister Mary.
Jean worked as a bus driver for 25 years. She loved to spend time with her sisters and friends annually at a camp. She was a member of St. Joachim’s Church and the Choir, she was also involved in the cursillo movement. She was an avid bowler and loved animals and babies. She was a devoted wife and best mother to her loving children. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons Richard and Michael; daughters Jo-Ann Horncastle, Genevieve MacDougall, Janet Horne, Christine Richard; brothers Alexander, Douglas and Raymond; sisters Germaine, Rita, Lorraine, Geralda, Margaret and Ann; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, visitations will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Church on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
