FOX, MERLIN REGINALD
Merlin R. Fox of Nackawic, N.B. passed away March 8, 2016 peacefully at his home. He was born at Lower Southampton N.B., 1933, a son of the late Alfred and Beulah (Dore) Fox.
He is survived by his wife Eunice of sixty years; two sons Michael (Barbara), Hammonds Plains N.S. and Peter (Pam); grandson, Dexten Fox, step grandchildren, Emily, Michael and Andrew MacFarlane, Moncton N.B.; sister Audrey McGuire (Donald) Fredericton N.B.; a special friend, Jason Jones and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Medley and infant John; sisters Enid Strong, Muriel Gordon, Edith Walker, Kathleen McGuire, Joyce Hues and Joan MacDonald-Hicks.
He worked for Southampton sawmills and retired from St. Anne- Nackawic. He was a Mason of Woodstock Lodge 11 and Granite Lodge 54 where he served as chaplain for many years, and a Luxor Shriner. He enjoyed four wheeling, farming, fishing, hunting, playing cards and trips to Riley Brook. His immediate and extended family and friends were very important to him.
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, N.B. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held, Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ryan Farrell officiating and Rev. Terry Brewer assisting. Interment at a later date.
For those of you who wish to make a donation in memory of Merlin, the family has suggested the Otis Cemetery and Camp Goodtime.
