FITZGERALD, VICTOR RAY
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Victor Ray Fitzgerald which occurred at his home on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016. Born 1944, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Eugene and Gertrude (Tower) Fitzgerald.
Victor worked for the City of Saint John as Director of Somerset Community Center for 34 years. He was actively involved with Little League Baseball, The North End Food Bank, The Saint John Liberal Association and was an Elder at Douglas Avenue Christian Church.
Victor is survived by his loving wife Kaye (Parker); step-sons Dale Parker of Saint John, Rene Parker (Tammy) of Lincoln, Kendall Parker of Saint John, James Eskins of Saint John; step-daughters Karen Parker of Oshawa, ON, Lana McKinney (Robert) of Ohio, Michelle Parker of Fredericton; brothers Eugene (Agnes) of St. John`s NL, Clark Fitzgerald (Kay) of Saint John; sisters June Lavin of Saint John, Heather McLeod of Riverview, NB, Faith Kingston of Saint John; sister-in-law Donna Fitzgerald; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Victor was predeceased by his step-son Kerry Parker and brothers Larry, Terry, and Gordon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, March 11th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, March 12th at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in memory of Victor may be made to the Douglas Avenue Christian Church, North End Food Bank or to the charity of the donor`s choice.
