Freda Marie Richards (Goer) Carroll
Passed away peacefully at the age of 94, with her daughter Ruth McDonald by her side.
Freda will be fondly remembered by her children, Stanley (Joyce), Ruth, and David (Gail), her grandchildren Diane, Brian, Jennifer, Jean, Michelle, Heather, Nicole, Roxanne, Kelly and Stephen, and her great-grandchildren, Carlee, Karmin, Nathan, Ivorie, Emma, Mack, Ella, Alivia and Lily.
Always spirited, Freda was an artist, avid gardener, fashionista and businesswoman. Eclectic and unique, Freda enjoyed reading palms, tea
leaves, and exploring astrology. She always enjoyed tea and cookies with her many grandchildren, and cheered them on during their many adventures. As a skilled painter and lover of the arts, she was president, treasurer and member of the Juan de Fuca Arts and Crafts Guild for many years. Freda cared for her community, and often spoke passionately on the issues she was concerned about.
A small visitation and service will be held for Freda at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home in Newmarket, Ont. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 3-5 p.m., followed by a burial at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens on Cape Breton Island, on a date to be determined.
