BROWN, GERTRUDE HAZEL
Gertrude was called home to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, March 10, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Violet (Harvey) Mabie.
She was a faithful member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, active in the UCW as well as Sunday school. Gertrude was employed at the Hugh John Flemming Forestry Complex from 1980 until her retirement in 2002.
Gertrude was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Frederick Brown in April 2010; her mother and father; her brother, Donald Mabie and her mother and father-in-law, Amber and Charles Brown.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Brown (Doris) and David Brown (Janice); grandchildren, Timothy Brown, Kristen Brown, Alexander Brown (Kyle) and Alyssa Brown; great grandchildren, Braydyn Brown, Jackson Brown, Asher Brown, Spencer Brown, Dalice and Quinn Brown; her brother, Carl Mabie (Donna); sisters-in-law, Edith Mabie and Deliah Hachey as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Nashwaaksis United Church, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 3 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Ext. Cemetery at a later date.
