John Edward Hutchinson (Hutch)
August 14th, 1938 - March 8th, 2016
John Edward Hutchinson, 77, passed from this earth into the presence of
Jesus on March 8, 2016. John was born in Saskatoon, grew up in Yorkton, Sask. Married Dorothy Neifer and had 4 children; Gary Gordon, Robert, Karen, Tammy. In 1972 he married Shirley Mills, and children, Doug and Terry Mills. Predeceased by this parents Dick and June Hutchinson, son Gary Gordon and grandsons, Kyle and David Hutchinson. Survived by his sister, all 5 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. From 1956-67 he worked for Power Corp. at the Queen Elizabeth Power Station.
1967-1990 he worked for Mobile Oil Swift Current. He was the Associate
production foreman, Senior production foreman and Electrician. It was
told to me he was a friend to all his staff. 1976 John and Shirley
became owners and developers of Trail Campground and Mobile Home Park. In 1992 they moved to Calgary where John worked for Global Thermal Electric. My Dad told me they had built a good life together. My Father, I believe to be the greatest People person. He took everyone at face value. Never forgot a name or a face and you were always important. He always had a STORY. We would always find him with a camera in hand or on his neck, he may have taken your wedding photos. He loved to dress up as Santa Claus (Shirley at the helm) and arriving at your house with gifts. Although a Blended family my Dad loved everyone equally. John valued his friendships and family with a phone call once a week or email (which I will so miss). He had a great relationship with his nephews. He had a passion for all types of music. He is predeceased by his first son Gary, and the mother of his children Dorothy. Dad moved to B.C. in 2014. Residing in White Rock. Started attending a Lutheran Church and gave his life to Christ. Dad made many new friends quickly and was so loved there. I want to thank my Aunt Heather, his only sibling and Pastor Norm Miller for praying and being there in his passing with cancer and all others who helped. We love you John, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle and Friend Hutch. We will deeply miss you.
