BLUE MOUNTAIN – Margaret Ellen “Nellie” Greene, 89, Blue Mountain, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Blue Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Lionel Alexander and Jessie Laura (Campbell) MacLeod. Nellie was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain.
She enjoyed reading and listening to music. Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who will be dearly missed by those she loved.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Duncan; daughter, Kathy Walker, New Glasgow; son, David (Lynn) Greene, Blue Mountain; grandsons, Mike, Ryan and Layne; great-grandson, Owen; several nieces and nephews; cousins, Margaret Gillis and Mary Greene; sister-in-law, Betty MacDougall.
She was predeceased by sister, Mary Sutherland.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating. Interment will be in Blue Mountain Cemetery.
