John "Jack" Black

John Donald “Jack” Black, age 76, of Westville, formerly of Amherst, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, with his family by his side.

Born in Amherst, on June 1, 1939, he was a son of the late Frances (Barnett) Black and the late Victor Black.

Jack was a mechanic by trade, having worked at Kiley Pontiac, West Way Pontiac, and Woolco. He later operated 5 Town Parcel Delivery until his retirement.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Rose (Gould); daughter Sheila Lees (Wesley) and grandchildren, Katelyn, Shavonne, and Austin Lees; chosen daughter Kathy Davidson (John) and their children Ashton, Harley, and Lacee Davidson. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Victor; Patricia Fuller (Robert); Rod (Mae); Carl (Carol); Cathy Clark; Lorna Jones (Bruce); Henry (Bonnie); Cindy McNeil (Kevin); Robin (Bev); half-brothers and sisters, Rod (Susan); Paul (Connie); Vicki Logan (Chris); Brenda Manthorne (George).

He was predeceased by brothers David, Gordon and George; step-father Donald; step-mother Lois; half-sister Gail Gouchie and brother-in-law Terry Clark.

Jack is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Thursday from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Aidan Kingsbury officiating. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
