It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Cameron MacMillan on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at the QEII Hospital, Halifax.
Born in Inverness, Cape Breton, July 13, 1934, he was a son of the late John and Mary Belle (Cameron) MacMillan.
Robert retired from Mazda as a distinguished, honest and hard-working mechanic. He was an adherent of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Sydney and a lifetime member of the East Lake Ainslie Presbyterian Church.
Robert is survived by his two sons, Rev. Ian (Jane), Lancaster/Martintown pastoral charges, Ont. and Robert, principal of Halifax Central Jr. High, Halifax; granddaughter, Emily. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara (Leroy) Peach, Port Morien and Joan (George) Chisholm, Milton, Ont. and brother, John, Burlington, Ont.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Brookland Street, Sydney, on Friday, March 18 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to East Lake Ainslie Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
