Linda Ann MacDonald, 68, passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on March 25, 2016 after a brief struggle with lung cancer.
Linda was born Jan. 9, 1948 in Glace Bay she was a loving daughter of the late Dan A. McInnis and Annie McCarthy. She grew up and raised her family in Bridgeport, until she met and married Colin F. MacDonald and relocated to Marion Bridge.
Linda loved the outdoors and took joy spending time at the water with her beautiful dog Bella who she adored; she always said it was her little piece of Heaven where everyone was welcome. Linda had a contagious personality who always kept her family and friends as her main passion and delight in her life. She touched the hearts and lives of so many people who knew her.
Although Linda worked in several areas, she was best known for her ability to provide homecare for those who needed her kind hand.
She is survived by her husband Colin F. MacDonald, Marion Bridge; daughter Deann Woods, Quispamsis, N.B.; son Dan MacKinnon, Coxheath; sister Janette (Ken) Shortridge, Ottawa; grandchildren Brandon, Maria, Alicia, Tom, Kyle, Emma and Madison. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marion Bridge with Fr. Paul McGillivary officiating. A reception will follow the mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory can be made to the Palliative Care unit of the C.B. Regional Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society.
