VERBURGH, CAROL JOAN SEELEY (PERRY)
The death of Carol Verbugh, wife of the late Johannes "Joe" Verburgh, occurred on March 25th, 2016 at Orchard View Long Term Care. Born October 31st, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Nellie (Douthwright) Perry.
Carol loved to travel and told many stories about her trip to England with her girlfriends before she was married and winter trips to Hawaii and Brandenton Beach, Florida. With her husband Joe she was able to make four trips to his hometown in Holland, completting the 4 Days March twice. She was a longtime member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Oromocto Baptist Church where she was active with the WMS.
She is survived by her sons, Peter Verburgh (Jeannette) of Burton and David Verburgh (Shawna) of Rusagonis; two grandchildren, Cody David and Sara Kate as well as several nieces and nephews.
Carol was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by her parents and all her siblings, Hellen, Vella, Ruth, Jimmy and Donald.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Baptist Church on Friday, April 1st, 2016 from 1 to 2 pm. A funeral service will follow in the church at 2:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Perry Hanley will officiate. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery at a later date.
