CURRY, SANDRA
NEW WATERFORD, NS - Sandra Pauline (Gillis) Curry, 72, of New Waterford, NS passed away peacefully March 27, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Sandra, Joe and family were former residents of Gorham Drive in Nashwaaksis and parishioners of St Theresa’s Church.
After moving from Port Hawkesbury to Nashwaaksis in 1973, Sandra focused on raising her family as well as helping her community. She served in many roles, including Club President, in the Kinette Club of Nashwaaksis and also for the K-Ette Club of Nashwaaksis, making many great, lifelong friends along the way. Sandra enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and dancing and was always singing a song. She loved being in the company of her family and friends and made great memories during her 20 years in the community.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Joe Curry – retired from RHq Canada Employment and Immigration; sons Blaise (Karen) of Halifax, Glenn (Daisy) of Montreal and Shaun of Fredericton. She cherished her six grandsons Ryan, Laughlin, Hagan, Nathan, Cameron and Cade, and her granddaughter Emily. She is also survived by four sisters and five brothers, including CWO(Ret) John (Allana) Gillis of Hanwell, NB, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
