Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, March 27, 2016, of W. Jean Toombs of Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, and formerly of Kensington, aged 91 years. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on July 9, 1924, daughter of the late Hartle and Alene (MacLean) Bowness. Wife of the late Linwood Toombs. Mother of Garth (Betty) Toombs, Kensington, and Alan Toombs (Carol Anne Duffy), Stratford. Mother-in-law of Kaye Toombs, Toronto (Errol, deceased). Grandmother to Wade (Cindy) Toombs, Kim (Ryan) McMahan, Kent Toombs (Shannon MacPhee), Jillian Toombs (Terence Cheng), Rebecca Toombs (Jarvis Hetu), Virginia (Kris) Velss, Jessica Toombs, Curtis (Jill) Toombs, Bethany Toombs (Sandy Doucette), Neil (Carly) Toombs. Great-grandmother to Alysha Toombs (deceased), Alexandra, Braeden and Caelan McMahan, Alexander, Madeline, Liam, Holly and Edward Toombs, Audrey Toombs-Hetu, Elliette Toombs-Cheng. Sister of Mary Bell (Lea, deceased) and Sterling Bowness. Sister-in-law of Barbara Bowness, Dot Toombs (Bill, deceased), Betty Madren (Dave, deceased). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by sister Alexie (Harry) Mutch and brother Wayne Bowness. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Friday from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday in the Kensington United Church at 11 a.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Kensington.
