Donald Irvin Meng
March 16, 1934 – March 27, 2016


It is with sorrow the family of Donald (Don) Meng, formerly of Birch Hills, Sask, announces his passing on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the age of 82 years at the Jubilee Lodge Care Home in Kinistino, Sask. Don was born to Clarence and Elsie Meng on March 16, 1934 in the Crystal Springs area. He spent the biggest part of his life working various jobs in and around the communities of Crystal Springs, Waitville and Birch Hills. Uncle also spent a few years living and working in Alberta and Ontario before returning to Saskatchewan. He loved music, dancing and cherished visiting with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his surviving brother Bert (Elaine) Meng and sister Darlene Byers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Elsie, brothers Harvey, Maurice, Art and David, as well as sisters Norma, Viola, Alice, Goldie, Lorraine and Lois. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Birch Hills, SK with Reverend Chris Dow officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express a special “Thank You” to the staff at the Jubilee Lodge for their years of caring for Don. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
