BARRY, Rose Martha – age 61, Green Street, Yarmouth, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at home. Born January 7, 1955 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Mary (Comeau) Poole, Pembroke, Yarmouth Co., and the late Fred Poole. Throughout her working life, Rose worked at Dominion Textiles in Yarmouth, having also worked at Harris’ Quick n’ Tasty, Harris’ Seafood, Bargain Giant and MacKenzie Security. She loved collecting dolphins, and although she enjoyed cross-stitching and knitting, Rose’s true pleasure was found in her kids, her grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Aside from her mother, Mary, she is survived by her husband, Danny Barry, as well as by her children, Bobbi-Jo Paddock, Kingston, ON; Lisa (Briand) Parent, Pleasant Valley; Shannon (Milton) Fitzgerald, Little River Harbour; grandchildren, Eleni (Mike) Paddock, Christian Kelsey, Emily Nickerson, Jared Deveau, Jillian Deveau, Brea Kelsey, Matthew Nickerson, Emerald Parent and Olivia Parent, as well as a great granddaughter, Emma Keizer. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Robert Comeau, Ontario; Alice (Ralph) Durkee, Pleasant Valley; Blair (Betty) Poole, Yarmouth; Donna (William) Hurlburt, Yarmouth; Annette Poole, Yarmouth; Sidney (Marie) Poole, Belleville; Georgie (Marie) Poole and Ronnie (Nancy) Poole, both of B.C.; Bernadette (Carry) Maughan and Cecilia (Mike) Paddock, both of Bridgewater, as well as sister-in-law, Gloria Nickerson, Wellington and a brother-in-law, David Barry, Yarmouth, along with many nieces and nephews. Aside from her father, Fred, she was predeceased by sisters, Sharon and Wilma. A Celebration of Life was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 3 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 61, Parade Street, Yarmouth. Donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the IWK Hospital Foundation or to the Tri-County Site of the VON.
