Sharon Sloat

SLOAT, SHARON ELIZABETH
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Sharon Elizabeth Sloat at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on March 31, 2016, three weeks before her 69th birthday. Born in Fredericton on April 19, 1947, she was the youngest child of the late Lloyd and Edna Sloat (Barr).
Sharon was enjoying a full life in her retirement when she passed; playing bridge, enjoying ‘siblings dinners’ with her beloved brothers and their families, adventures with dear life-long friends, the happy get-togethers with her ‘condo’ friends, and travelling the world. She visited Turkey last fall and had just returned from a cross-Canada trip visiting all of her grandchildren, meeting her youngest grandchild for the first time.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her son, Todd; sister, Joanne; brothers, Lester and Hazen; and niece, Kathy. Sharon is lovingly remembered by her children, Terran (Wendy) and Kyla (Clay); grandchildren, Chloe, Danielle, Brooklyn, Marshall, and Cullen; sister, Mavis (Wilf); brothers, Osborne, Ashley (Joan), Glen (Glenna) and Harry (Judy); sisters-in-law, Shirley and Nancy; numerous much-loved nieces and nephews; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Her family is thankful to New Brunswick EMS and the staff at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their efforts to preserve her life.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home, Saturday, April 9, 2016, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm. A reception and opportunity to visit with family members will follow. Sharon will be interred by her son, Todd, at St. James Anglican Church, Tay Creek, at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.mcadamsfh.com.
For anyone who wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations to The Shelters (www.TheShelters.ca) in support of Grace House (273 Brunswick St., Fredericton) would be greatly appreciated.
