It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Brown announce his passing on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook at the age of 80 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Vera of 58 years; daughter Kimberly (Bruce); son Keith (Helen); daughter Sherry, grandchildren: Andrea (Sean), Matthew (Chelsea), Courtney (Colton), Gavin, Christina (Ayden) and Kalib; sisters: Doris O'Dell, Angela Hase, Kay Piercey, Gloria Brown (Frank), Linda Locke (Lloyd), Margaret Crawford (Doug) and Vera Sampson (Ron); brothers: Henry (Karen) and Howard (Dorothy); sisters-in-law: Carrie Brown, Leona Crewe (Leslie), Helen Robinson and Ivy Park; brother-in-law Roland Park and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Loretta (Rita) and Arthur; sister Sadie; brother William; sister-in-law Lorraine Brown and brother-in-law Donald Hase. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with The Very Rev. Baxter Park and Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church or to a charity of one's choice.
