Wilfred Keith Airey age 74 of Swift Current, SK passed away on March 26, 2016. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday April 1, 2016 from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating and Mary Henderson provided the music. The Interment Service took place from Memory Gardens Cemetery and the honor guard was formed by the Mason's Swift Current Lodge # 26 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Wilf is survived by his daughters Barb Wiebe, Debbie (Dan) McMurtry, and Maren Hanson (Doug Nixdorf); grandchildren Bailey, Brady, Brennen (Mel), Bryce (Dani), Ezekiel, Logan and Dustyn; great grandchildren Memphis, Dallas, and Willow; four sisters; two brothers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Edith Airey; wife Heather Airey; sister-in –law Kathy Airey; sister Gladys Shanks; and brothers-in-law Jim Shanks and Earl Argle. Wilf grew up on the family farm and attended school in Kenton Manitoba. On June 1st 1963 he married Heather Schaak. After Heather’s passing in 1993, he married Linda Hanson on June 5, 1997 whom he later divorced. He started working for Ag Canada at the Dominion Experimental Farm in Brandon, MB in 1963. In 1978 he transferred to the Swift Current Research Station. He worked for Ag Canada for 32 years until his retirement in 1995. He then worked for 10 more years with the Pioneer Co-op in the plumbing department. Wilf was very involved in the Mason's being a member Masons Swift Current Lodge #26Ancient and Free and Accepted Masons also Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites Moose Jaw, Alexander Sheppard Chapter Rose Croix, and the Royal Order of Scotland. He was also a member of the IOF Forresters, men's monday night bowling league, Blood Donor for Red Cross, he completed the 12 steps of A.A. He also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, watching sports especially the Bluejays , Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Ottawa Senators, curling and once his grandsons explained the rules, basketball. He also loved golfing, camping, fishing and woodworking. He enjoyed spending his time with friends and family.
