ROBINSON, ERNEST "ERNIE" ALLEN
The passing of Ernest “Ernie” Allen Robinson, husband of Diane Robinson, of Fredericton, NB occurred on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 19, 1946 in Doaktown, NB, he was a son of the late Melvin Sr. and Nora (O’Donnell) Robinson.
Ernie was an accountant at UNB for 35 years. He was an Associate Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 Doaktown, NB. Ernie enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid urban farmer.
In addition to his wife, Diane, Ernie is survived by his daughter, Laura Eliaba (Dunu) of Fredericton, NB; son, Bruce Robinson (Kelsey McCulley) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Noah and Eden; brother, Leon Robinson (Bonnie) of Charlottetown, PE; half-sister, Edna Looney (Randie) of Beverly Hills, FL; sister-in-law, Barbara Robinson of Doaktown, NB; brothers-in-law, Vernon Dunphy of Boiestown, NB, Tom Friars (Linda) of Riverview, NB, Richard Friars (Del) of Calgary, AB and Blaine Friars (Susan) of Sussex, NB; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his infant daughter, Stephanie; sisters, Anna Robinson and Velma Dunphy; brothers, Robert (Norma), Melvin Jr., William (June) and Michael Robinson; and niece, Brenda Richards.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Forest Hill United Church, Fredericton on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 2 pm with Rev. David Brewer officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, New Brunswick Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
