Anna Olive St. Croix

It with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Anna Olive St. Croix age 90 of Amherst on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Northumberland Hall, Amherst, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Springhill, NS, September 5, 1925, Anna was a daughter of the late John A. and Willa M. Nelson.
She was a dedicated worker at various jobs throughout the Maritimes, including Gables Lodge in Amherst, where she was employed as a cook and custodian.
Anna retired following 45 years of service in 1990.
In her younger years, Anna enjoyed travelling, and later listening to the radio and a good meal. Her highlights in life where spending quality time with her family, friends and living at 48 Summit Ave for 25 years.
Anna was especially grateful for the wonderful care and kindness she received at Northumberland Hall, where she resided since March, 2010.
In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband, Earle St. Croix in 1967; daughter, June Nieforth in 2015; sisters, Jessie Canfield, Janice Hunter and Doris McCormick.
Anna will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Ruth (Leslie) Strang, Amherst, Dorothy (Lyndon) Thomas, Pugwash, Barbara Dowe, Hamilton, ON; son, David, Amherst; grandchildren; one great grandchild; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A private memorial service for Anna St. Croix will be held at a later date from Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, Amherst (902) 667-9906 with Lt. Stephen and Rosalyn Toynton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of the charity of your choice.
