Thomas Diamond

Born: July 3rd, 1929

Passed on: April 1st, 2016

Our dad, grandpa, and uncle, Thomas Diamond, was born July 3, 1929. He married Madeline Stevens on December 9, 1953 and together they had three children and raised them in St. Anthony. Anyone who knew him, knows that he was fun-loving, a joker, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. This past week we have learned some stories of the things he had done. We never knew the names of the people he worked with because called them such things as “Old Cow”, “Grassy”, “Pussy Cat”, and another “Nose.” There are many stories but we don’t have time to recollect them all. Thomas retired in 1991, where he spent his retirement in St. Anthony and made occasional trips to Alberta to visit family. His wife Madeline passed away in November for 2010 and many, many, times he would talk about her. Now they are together again forever. Rest in Peace, Love you. Mr. Thomas Diamond of St. Anthony passed peacefully away at Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital on the 1st day if April, 2016, in his 86th year. He leaves to mourn his daughters Ivy (Willie) Whalen and Renee (Chris) Thompson, and son Truman Diamond; grandchildren Kerilynn (Tim) Truong, and Misty (Vadim) Zisin; grandchildren Oliver and Soleil as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Madeline, grandson Shane, and his parents Whitfield and Susie. Visitation was held at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home in St. Anthony after which the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony United Church with Rev. Dinesh Gomes officiating. Interment followed in the Fishing Point United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director. You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he has lived. Smile, open your eyes, love, and go on.
