Katherine Lois Maxwell

1937-2016
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Katherine Lois Maxwell, 78, of Sackville, and formerly of Middleton, announce her sudden passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. Born in Sydney, Cape Breton, Lois was a daughter of the late Victor and Grace (Moore) Buckingham.
Lois grew up in Saint John, NB where she met the love of her life, John Maxwell. Lois devoted her entire life to her family, never missing a school or sporting event. She enjoyed sewing, crafting and baking, especially with her grandchildren. Our 'Nana' will be deeply missed.
She will be sadly missed by sons, James and Brian (Michelle Purdy); daughters, Heather (Alan) Milner, Katherine (David) Burns, and Gayle (Randy) Cadman; grandchildren, Laura, Sarah, Andrew, Erin, Virginia, Alex, James, Max, Johnny, Myles, Joseph, Riley, Katie, Ryan, Eian, Lily and Simon; great grandchildren, Maria, Evie, Sawyer, Felix, Kadence, and Darius; a sister, Sonya Ryan; a brother, William 'Bill' (Charlene) Sonier, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John, and her sons, Joseph and John Jr.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation was held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 7-9 pm. A funeral mass was held from St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville on Saturday at 11 am. Following the service, Lois wase laid to rest alongside John in the St. Edward Cemetery, Dorchester. Father Allison Carroll presided.
Donations in memory of Lois may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation.
