Amy  Tobin

Amy Iris (Reid) Tobin (born in Lady Cove), age 84 years, 4 months, passed away peacefully at the G. B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville, on April 2, 2016. Pre-deceased by her husband Ronald Tobin, companion Samuel Parsons, parents Wallace & Rosie Reid, her brothers Ron, Heman, Allan, Clayton, and her sisters Viola, Marjorie. Left to mourn with many fond memories are her children: Joel (Tori), Hedley (Evelyn), Marjorie (Robert), Marilyn; Grandchildren: David (Mila), Scott (Pam), Brian (Sonia), Darryl, Shane (Nancy); Great-Grandchildren: Liam, Sammy, Dexter, Kirill, Hayley, Tyler, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Kole; Brothers: Ern (Maude), Wilf (Lynn Ann), Rick (Cindy); Sisters: Elsie, Ivy (Bram), Minnie, Phyllis (Warren), Linda (Allister), Betty (Calvin), Nellie (Mike), as well as, a large number of relatives and dear friends. Rested at the United Church, Lady Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Donna Hann, took place on Thursday, April 7, 2016 with interment following in Lady Cove. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at G. B. Cross Hospital who cared for Amy in her last days and hours with a special thank you to Dr. Geleidi, Nurses Abhilash, Julia & Nicole; to the Total Care staff; to Kim Hansford and everyone at Vardy’s Funeral Home for their compassionate care of our loved one; to Reverend Hann for her words of consolation and inspiration, to the Lady Cove UCW for the refreshments at the Church Hall, to everyone who called at the church to say farewell and support the family through this very difficult time, to everyone that sent flowers and food and to those who donated to the Lady Cove United Church Memorial Fund and to everyone that passed along their condolences by email and phone.
