With heavy hearts and much sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Gary Hand on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Centre at the age of 73 years. Gary was a gentle, caring person loved and respected by all who knew him. Predeceased by his parents William and Helen (Charles) Hand, and brother Barry. Leaving to mourn his loving and deeply devoted wife of 48 years Lorraine (Follett); sons Rod (Christine) and Trevor; grandchildren Janessa, Allena, Natalie, Carter, Aaron and Olivea. Also mourning Gary's sisters and brothers: Helen Taylor (Derm), Errol (Jessica) Hand, David (Georgina) Hand, Sandra Thomson, Gail Dooley (Tom), Jackie Moser (Robert), Ken Hand (Sandra), Derek Hand, and Ed Hand (Reta); brother in law Robert (Theresa) Follett, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Tuesday, April 19th and Wednesday, April 20th from 2 - 5pm and 7 - 9pm. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Teresa's Church, Mundy Pond Road on Thursday April 21st, 2016 at 11am. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Gary's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
