With deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Ramona Mary Ross, age 85, on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in North Sydney on Jan. 4, 1931, Mona was the daughter of the late Thomas and Amelia (White) Long. She was a loving mother and genuine caregiver, always putting others before herself. She was a very social woman who loved dancing, music, crafts and spending time with friends and family.
Mona is survived by her sister, Rita (Gaudon); her two sons, Clifford and Johnny (Marlene); her four daughters, Linda (Vince), Madonna, Denise and Debbie (Sandy); her stepdaughter, Anna (Ken), several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving partner, Clifford Gouthro; six children, Dennis, Vernon, Earl, Kevin, Wanda and Charlene; her four brothers, Gus, Frank, Charlie, Joey and two sisters, Evelyn and Edna.
The family would like to express deep gratitude to the staff at the Northside Community Guest Home and Dr. Joan Salah for their unending kindness, patience and loving support during mom’s struggles with illness.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
