It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Pius MacGillivary on Monday, April 18, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Walsh) MacGillivary.
Pius worked at several hospitals in the local area and retired at Taigh Na Mara.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Rosemary; siblings, Cecilia Bennett, Ralph and Jerry.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Jimmy, Naish, Peter, Joey, Charlie, Danny, John, Sadie Donovan and Mae Graham.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Friday, April 22, at St Anne’s Church. The interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
