Purvis, June Iona, age 78, of Windsor, Hants Co., passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, April 19, 2015, at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, where she resided for the past two years. Born on July 15, 1937, in Gypsum Mines, Hants Co., she was the daughter of the late Brett and Flossie (Swinamer) Lunn. June was well known for having worked at the Stedmans Store in Windsor, where she was employed for over 20 years until it closed. She then went to work at the Avon Valley Golf & Country Club, Falmouth, until her retirement. June is survived by her children, Freeman (Karen Horst), Kitchener, Ont.; Grace Forgarty ( Pietrino Marcatilli ), Halifax; Stanley (Diana Rines), South Rawdon; 8 grandchildren, Chrystina, Freeman, Brett, James, Jasson, Jennifer, Jeremy, and Jessica; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Frances) Lunn, Burlington; Gary ( Elva ) Lunn, Belmont; sister, Joyce Dill, Dill Road; twin sister, Joan Starratt, Hantsport; sister-in-law, Yolande ‘Yogi’ Purvis, Windsor; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Garwin Edgar Purvis (November 21/2015); a granddaughter, Nancy Parker; brothers, Fred, Ron (Gertrude), Merril (Joyce), Malcolm (Cora), and Graham (Lanna) Lunn; sister, Helen (Joe) Fougere; brothers-in-law, George Dill and Starr Starratt. Visitation was 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday, April 22, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service was 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Lindsay`s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Garnet Parker officiated, with interment in the Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King Street, Windsor. Donations in memory of June were requested to be made to the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth or the Canadian Cancer Society.
