It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Marie (Landry) Martin. Jean passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Sept. 1, 1937, Jean was the only child of the late Alfred and Mary Irene 'May' (Cox) Landry.
Left to mourn are her husband of 61 years, William A. 'Arnie' Martin; sons, Lorne (Judy), Sydney and Scott (Diana), Hammonds Plains; daughter, Heather (Mylo) Paruch, Sydney. Jean is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brent, Kirk, Jillianne, Joshua, Kyla, Rebecca and Nicholas; one great-grandchild, Sophia.
During her early years of marriage, Jean stayed at home with her children. Later, she enjoyed a career at Young's Sight and Sound in Sydney for more than 20 years. Jean will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and warm heartedness. She devoted her life to her children, and later, her grandchildren. She loved her family selflessly.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. As per Jean's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family service will take place with interment at a later date.
Donations in Jean's memory can be made to the IWK Children's Hospital, CBRH Palliative Care, or charity of choice.
