Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on April 20, after a tragic motor vehicle accident, Shannon Edgar Pittman, aged 40 years. Predeceased by his father Edgar Pittman, infant sister, Tracey Michelle and mother-in-law Linda Foley. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts his daughters Allyson and Kaitlin whom he loved dearly; his wife, best friend and soulmate, Sarah (Foley); his beloved mother Faye; brother Justin (Jennifer, nephew Jakob and niece Georgia); numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; sister-in-law Ellen Foley (Aaron Vick); father-in-law Pete Foley; numerous friends and colleagues; and his furry best friend, Oliver. Shannon had a zest for life, family, friends, music, bodybuilding and motorcycle riding. Shannon was also a dedicated teacher, respected by colleagues and students alike. Family would like to thank the staff of the HSC ER and ICU departments (Dr. D. Flusk, Dr. Y Quershi, Dr. H Engelbrecht, Dr. R. Bobby, Dr. C. Yegappan, Dr. F. Noel) ER Nurse (Travis), ICU nurses (Kim and Deanne) for their kind, respectful and skilled care shown to Shannon and his loving family in this their time of anguish. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay, on Friday, April 22 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place from Holy Trinity Church, Torbay on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Outer Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Shannon's memory to the ALS Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
