The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, April 22, 2016, of Reggie Blanchard, beloved husband of Rita (nee Doiron), of Rustico, aged 90.
Reggie was the loving father of Darlene Blanchard (Jim Taylor), Angela Deisting (Pat), Paul (Brenda Doiron), Michael, Arnold (Cheryl Doiron), Pamela McRorie (Jim), Michele Myers (Dwayne) and Dawn Blanchard; grandfather of Carolyn, Jill, Aaron, Cary, Chris, Kaila, Chad, Jesse, Courtney, Daniel and Paul; and great-grandfather of Darren, Sandra and Flora. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Margaret Blacquiere, Cornelius Blanchard and Lorraine Deveaux (Medee); sisters-in-law, Marie McQuaid (Ralph), Josie Chaisson (Jerome), Nancy Blanchard and Stella Blanchard; brother-in-law, Rolland Menard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Reggie was predeceased by his parents, Theophilus and Angeline (Doucette) Blanchard; brothers, Allan, Raymond, Richard, Cyril, Bernard and Edward; and sisters, Stella, Anita and Eleanor.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538, Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, April 25, 2016, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
