Laura Shawn Stairs would like you to know that her work here on Earth is done. She received an unexpected call on a beach in Mexico and the sign on bonus was too great for her selfless heart to refuse. On April 21, 2016 she died so that others could live on.
Laura's adventurous spirit now soars throughout the universe. Her infectious smile, genuine compassion, deep values and zest for life will be profoundly missed by all those who loved her.
Laura is survived by her partner in life, Karen Stote; her parents, Ross and Shawn Stairs; her sisters and best friends, Abby (Mike Porter) and Erin (Daniel Fillmore); her nieces, Molly and Anna; her very special nan, Doris Stairs; her nanny, Rita Stilwell; several aunts, uncles and cousins; her countless friends and her fur babies, Charlie, Melvin and Winnie.
Laura would not wish to list her life accomplishments, rather she would like to thank the people closest to her for teaching her, loving her and for being in her life.
Laura provided a glowing example of how to live and love life. She touched the world in a positive light in so many ways and leaves a legacy of pure joy, class and love. Her generosity of spirit lives on through her gift of organ donation. Long live the beauty in the world that comes down, through and onto all of us because Laura lived.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Oakland Farm and Lodge, 65 Oakland Farm Lane, New Maryland on Thursday, April 28th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
