Passed away peacefully at Western Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, Allan McLean, aged 80 years. He was a kind and gentle soul, devoted to his family, church and community. He was born in Trout River, moved to Summerside at age 17, then settled in Corner Brook where he worked at Gordon Butler for many years. Leaving to mourn, his devoted wife of 59 years, Beulah; sons: Laurie (Cheryl), St. John's; Berkley, Ottawa; Darren (Sally), Edmonton; and daughter Kimberley McLean, Prince George, B.C.; and his much beloved grandson Daniel McLean, St. John's. Also leaving to mourn: sister Olive Payne, Trout River; brothers-in-law: Bert Young, Twillingate; Goodwin Young (Netta), George's Lake; sisters-in-law: Gloria Vincent (Peter), Corner Brook; Suzie McLean and Harriet McLean, Summerside, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends in Corner Brook, Trout River and Summerside. Predeceased by his parents Florence and Daniel McLean, and brothers Sandy, Jack, Jim and step-brother Donald. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humber United Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer's Society.
