Cora Ruth Watts

1962 - 2015
With broken hearts, we the family of Cora Watts, 53, late of Kingston, Ontario, announce her sudden death in the Woodstock General Hospital. She had been battling leukemia for several months.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of Gladys (Scott) Mazerall, and the late Jack Langillle, Birchwood, NS.
Cora leaves to mourn her mother Gladys Mazerall, Oxford, NS; two sisters, Loana Davies, Halifax, and Margaret (Joey) Kaiser, Cow Bay, NS; one son Devon Watts (Isabel), Petawawa, Ontario; one daughter, Sybil Ball, and two grandchildren, Conor and Finaula Ball, Woodstock; her stepmother, Hjordis Nielson, Birchwood, NS; an aunt Lynn (Ernest) Godfrey, Springhill, NS; several special friends, Michael Watts and Michael Davidson, and her faithful little dog, Humbug.
Cora played trumpet with the Parrsboro Citizens’ Band, starting at a very young age until she joined the military and moved to Kingston, Ontario, where she continued to play with several brass bands in the area. She was an accomplished artist, and had a knack for handwork, knitting, crocheting, sewing, spinning and weaving.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of W. Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2167). By her request there will be no funeral service; a wake will be held later in the spring in celebration of her life. Cremation has taken place in Ontario, and internment will be held in Leamington Cemetery, Cumberland County, NS later in the spring, beside her ancestors.
