Daniel Lee MacDonald passed away suddenly on April 29, 2016, at the age of 59. Dan was a red seal millwright, working at Devco in his early career. In 1997 he moved to Alberta and worked at Shell Oil Fort McMurray and Edmonton, as a millwright, Supervisor and mechanical co-ordinator. He retired to Glace Bay in 2014.
Left to mourn him are his wife Kitty Burke-MacDonald, sons Andrew (Melissa), Edmonton, John Barry, Fort McMurray, daughter Rebecca (George) Burke-Smith, Edmonton, grandchildren Parker, Delilah and Declan, sister Terry (Garfield) Andrews, brothers Todd (Nancy), Lower Sackville, Jim (Linda), Dartmouth, Bill (Stephanie) London, Ont.
He was predeceased by his daughter Holly and his parents Monica and Dan Sr.
Dan was known for his friendly outgoing nature and ability to make friends easily. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He valued his wife and family most of all and carried God in his heart. He will be sadly missed.
Cremation has taken place. As per Dan's wishes, there will be a private family service only.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Glace Bay Food Bank would be appreciated.
