CYR, WILLIE
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of J. “Willie” Wilfred Cyr, which occurred on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1941 in Campbellton, NB he was the son of the late Eugene and Evangeline (Guitard) Cyr.
Early on Willie was employed with TS Simms as a brush maker and was later employed as a taxi driver for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bingo, bowing and crosswords.
He is survived by his wife Johanna (Thibodeau) Cyr; daughters Bonnie (Murray Northrup) Cyr and Amanda (Dale Forrest) Cyr; adopted daughter Bobbi-Jo; siblings Marion, Adrian (Claudette), Charles (Irene), Alice, Aline, Irene, Albert (Dorothy), Leonard, Rachel and Roger; two grandchildren Alex and Austin; three adopted grandchildren Nick, James and Kira; brother-in-law Napolean LeBlanc; niece Gail (Randy) Cyr and great-niece Heather Cyr.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Marion Cyr and Rosella LeBlanc.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff at the SJRH CCU.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road 646-2424. The family will receive visitors at Fundy Funeral Home on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. In honor of his favorite pastime there will be a gathering for all to attend on Saturday evening, May 7, 2016 at the Saint John Bowlarama from 6 to 8 p.m. See you at lane 11.
