Landry, Donald “Dimmy”
1943-2016
Donald “Dimmy” Landry of Dieppe passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital. Born June 6, 1943 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Oscar and Olympe (Allain) Landry.
Donald was an Electrician most of his working life and a proud member of the IBEW Local 1555. He loved all sports but mainly hockey, baseball, and bowling. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and inducted in the Dieppe Sports Wall of Fame for his athletic abilities.
He is survived by his two sons: Roger (Carole) of Grande-Digue; their two children: Jacinthe (Marc) and Sébastien (Cassidy); Richard “Rick” (Suzanne) of Moncton; their three children: Justin (Natasha), Serge, and Raymond; his special friend, Patsy “Pat” Roach with whom he resided; her daughter, Leesa Young (John); their two children: Candice and Ryan; his siblings: Bernice Nowlan and Albert Landry of Moncton, Jeannine Hamilton (Rev. Donald) of Ste-Anne-de-Kent, Sylvia Walker (Scott) of Sussex, and Rev. Robert (Barbara) of Kingston, ON; three aunts, Emma Richard, Cécile Cormier, Victorine Allain and many nieces, and nephews.
His wife, Géralda née Caissie, predeceased him in 2012.
The family will receive condolences Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday May 13 at 11 am. A reception in the funeral centre will follow. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
