The death occurred at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre, Charlottetown on Monday May 9, 2016 of Hugh Duncan MacRae of Charlottetown and Spring Brook aged 83 years.
Born in Spring Brook on March 16, 1933, son of late William W. and Ada B. (Paynter) MacRae. Husband of Gloria (Heaney) MacRae.
Father of Nellie Thomas (Barry), Billy MacRae (Robyn), Nancy MacRae, Shirley Ayer (Mark) and Barb MacRae (Brian).
Grandfather of Billy, Adam and Laura Thomas, Liam O’Handley and Madison Ayer.
Brother of Bennett MacRae. Brother-in-law of Susan (Don) Trenholm and Louise Heaney.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son Walter MacRae, brothers Borden and Norman (Muriel) MacRae, sisters Marion MacRae, Eileen MacLean and Erma (Charles) Oakes, sister-in-law Irene MacRae and brothers-in-law Eric (Blanche) Heaney and Robert Heaney.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m.
Interment in People’s Cemetery New London.
