We, the family of Christy M. Sherwood, regret to announce her passing on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney.
Born May 24, 1927, at Canoe Lake, she was the daughter of the late David and Sarah Ann (MacIntyre) Lynk.
Christy is survived by her daughters, Frances Hanson, Calgary, Georgina (Ken) Sherwood-Loften, Calgary, Brenda Sherwood, Grande Prairie and Sally (Billy) MacCormick, Marion Bridge; sons, David MacSween, Edmonton, Phillip, Gordon (Emma) and Kenny (Carol McCaw), Gabarus and Jimmy, Grand Prairie ;17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren: sister-in-law, Mildred MacIntyre. Also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and several sons and daughters-in-law.
She was predeceased by her husband, George; sister, Margaret ‘Peggy’; brothers, Alex, Dan, Rory, Duncan, John A. and Angus; three grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Zion Wesley United Church on Friday 11 a.m., with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Gabarus.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
