New Glasgow, Roy Allen Cameron age 56 of New Glasgow and formerly of Caledonia and Island East River passed away after a short battle with cancer on May 5th, 2016 in the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Roy was happiest with family, friends and his loyal companion Babe. He enjoyed fishing, camping, road trips and being on the water .
Roy worked in the forestry industry for most of his life in various trades, mainly trucking. He worked all across Canada even in the Arctic.
Roy was a volunteer with the Eureka Fire Dept. for several years.
Surviving are his wife the former Donna (Jack); mother Ruth Cameron; daughter Samantha (Matthew) Thompson of Clayton Park;
son Clayton of New Glasgow; granddaughters: Goldie and Kassidi; brothers: Edward (Linda) of Stellarton; Arnie (Debbie) of Hopewell; Alvin of Durham; sisters: Debbie (Melvin) Cruickshank of Caledonia; Donna(Robert) Douglas of New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by his father John Cameron, father-in-law Donald Jack and niece Victoria Hart.
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 &7-9 P.M. on Saturday May 14th in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home.
There will be no funeral by request.
A public graveside service will be held on Sunday at 3 P.M. in the Maclean Cemetery, Hopewell with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating.
Please dress in blue jeans attire for the graveside service.
No flowers by request please.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital or to the MacLean Cemetery.
A reception will follow the graveside service in the Eureka Fire Hall.
