Robert (Bob) Earl Miller

February 14, 1941 – May 11, 2016
Bob Miller of Murray River (and longtime resident of Murray Harbour North) passed away on May 11th after a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Jacqui) Miller and close friend of her two children, Shaun Bradley of Petite Riviere (N.S.) and Patrick Bradley of Toronto.
He was well-known to the local community as a fisherman and as an organizer for the fishing industry.
A former teacher in Montague, Bob coached basketball and frequently tutored students at home to help many of them on their way to successful careers.
Bob was rarely without a story to tell, whether at the wharf, his favourite restaurant, or at the local trout pond.
He was a man with a large personality – someone who filled a room with his presence.
As his close friends came to learn, he was rarely without an opinion.
A celebration of Bob’s life will take place in the coming weeks, with published details to follow.
A plaque for him will also be added to the memorial bench in the Murray Harbour North cemetery that currently commemorates Jacqui’s life in P.E.I.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone in the community for the love and care they have shown to Bob, especially during these last few years when he struggled with ill health. Your kindness will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the P.E.I. Home Care Program (Montague/Souris) would be greatly appreciated.
Services have been entrusted to the Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home.
