It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Joseph Tobin announce his peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the age of 71 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife of 41 years, Rita Tobin (nee Lewis); his two daughters whom he cherished, Stephanie (Jeff) Kerrivan, Pasadena and Melissa Tobin, Corner Brook; his beautiful grandchildren: Carly, Emma, Nyia and Isaiah, whom he loved dearly; sisters: Annie Moore, Stellarton, NS, Aggie Higgins (Bernard), Halifax, Sarah Tobin, NB, Marie Sheppard (Pamel), Corner Brook and Madeline Bishop (Gary) Lower Sackville; brothers: Joseph, Kennetcook, NS, Stanley (Judy), Halifax, George (Sylvia), Corner Brook and Anthony; sisters-in-law: Bessy McKay (Andy), Beatrice Lewis (Peter), Geraldine Toope (Clifford) and Sherry Lewis; brothers-in-law: Pat Lewis (Diana), George Lewis (Cavelle) and Robert Lewis (Marilyn); as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his father and mother Stanley and Madeline Tobin; his brothers Felix, John and Alphonses; sister Gertrude; sisters-in-law Loretta (Jim) Walsh and Darlene Lewis. A special thank-you to the gentle and caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit. Your professional care goes above and beyond the call of duty. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday May 15th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday 8:00 p.m. from the Country Haven Funeral Chapel with Father Gale officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one's choice.
