Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre on Friday, May 13, 2016 in the presence of his children Annette and Paul, and sister-in-law Pamela Brown, John Francis McGrath age 76 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years Catherine (2015), parents John and Bridget, sister Eileen Browne, brothers-in-law Jimmy Earles, George Earles, Reg Brown and Bill English, sister-in-law Carolyn Churchill, and nephew Daniel Brown. Leaving to mourn daughter Annette (Scott Goudie), son Paul (Laura Neville) grandsons Jacob and Alex, brother Jim (Lucy), Rosalie Earles, Janice English (Late Bill), Pamela Brown (Late Reg), Donnie Earles (Laurie), Joseph Earles (Valerie), Tommy Earles (Susan), special friends Dot and EJ Joy, a large circle of other relatives and friends and his poker buddies. A true gentleman, Frank was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and was a lover of everything baseball, the Montreal Canadiens, Gordon Lightfoot, poker, and the occasional Captain Morgan. He adored his grandsons Jacob and Alex, rarely missing a soccer or hockey game, teaching them how to play poker, and entertaining them with stories of the Montreal Canadiens and baseball greats such as his beloved Willie Mays. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers of The Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Center, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, and Dr. Paul Jackman. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Caul's Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Tuesday, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral will take place on Wednesday, May 18th from St. Paul's Church, Newfoundland Drive at 10 a.m. with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
